Child Protect provides free, confidential counseling for children ages 3 to 18 who have been seen at our center. Counseling is available to any child who has experienced abuse or witnessed a violent crime as well as child witnesses and non-offending caregivers. No cost, no insurance required.
Our counseling program serves children referred through the Department of Human Resources (DHR) and law enforcement. If your child has not been seen at Child Protect, call 334-262-1220 for assistance contacting the correct agency.
Your child will work with one of our staff counselors or a graduate-level intern. Our counselors are part of the same team that handles the investigation.
Our playroom gives younger children a way to express what they are carrying through play.
When a case moves toward grand jury or trial, we help children understand what testifying looks like.
Counseling sessions are confidential. Your counselor or family advocate can explain how it works for your child's situation.
